The beginnings of the [mandelbrot set] date back to the summer of 2000 when Pavle Valerjev (guitar) and Sasa Velcic (drums) joined up with Kris Vunic (voice, bass) and Drago Mladenovic (guitar).
A creative energy was immediately evident and the band was quick to write its own material. October 2002 saw Drago's departure, who was swiftly replaced by Raul Jereb.
A regime of greater intensity as far as practice and touring was put to the test thus allowing the [mandelbrot set] to reach new heights.
The sound of the [mandelbrot set] is difficult to describe and there are no direct influences. It is a raw sound comprising of irregular rhythms and consciously selected disharmonies. The lyrical themes of the [mandelbrot set] often border on the surreal: a perfect complement to the music.
In February 2004 Carpe Diem! Records released [mandelbrot set]'s debut self-titled LP album.
